Having been involved in the RPG scene for quite some time I've seen the positive and negative effects of online trading for cash. Four panelists took part in this discussion from the legal profession, an online trading site and developers including EA. This debate was a pretty straight forward one, highlighting what we already pretty much know. That there is a thriving virtual economy where gamers are busy collecting nice pools of items in their favourite MMORPG and selling them on auction systems such as Ebay.
