Good morning - hope you had a nice weekend. Let's start with a Mistmare interview at HomeLan, where they talk to Sinister Systems' CEO David Modic about this upcoming action RPG:
HomeLAN - How is character creation handled in Mistmare?

David Modic - We wanted to have a really lifelike experience, so we didn’t include a character generation screen (the concept is a bit surreal in a way. I would gladly choose for my life a character that has proficiency in money making and the lots-of-free-time skill, but sadly I’ve never seen my char gen screen ?). The player starts with default stats and from day one progresses in a given direction – whatever he does, his abilities improve in that area. If he, for instance, hacks and slashes all the time, he becomes really proficient in that area. If he casts lots of spells, he becomes a better spell caster. Almost anything he does has some quantifiable effect on his stats.
