During the years that I have been a gamer, I have developed a particular fondness for the role-playing genre. Whether it’s their unique storylines or simply love watching my stats increase some of my favorite gaming experiences have been from RPGs. For those that don’t share in my enjoyment, there are a few common complaints. Mainly people complain that as technology has developed, role-playing titles have turned into 40-hour-long movies, with limited gameplay in between the cutscenes; secondly, that what your character does has little or no effect on the story. Gothic fans know this is not always the case and the latest in the franchise continues to innovate in free form game design.
