Ultima 4 Remake Interview

The next Ultima is going to be redone: Ultima 4 - Quest of the Avatar becomes Ultima 4 - The Dawn of Virtue. UOStratics has interviewed Jaakko Peltonen about his project (he was responsible for the Nethack addition "Falcon's Eye", so he sure has talent). Here's a snip:

TeichDragon: So the idea of remaking U4 is a little bit longer on your mind? Why did you start now, and why Ultima IV?

Jaakko: Well, the NetHack project took a lot of my time the previous year. Now that it's rather complete, I am once again able to think about Ultima IV. The reason why I'm interested in Ultima IV is twofold: firstly, it is one of the most exciting games in the series - in a sense a turning point for Ultima games. It introduces Britannia, the virtues, avatarhood, and other features that became important for Ultima. So it is a story well worth revisiting. On the other hand, the original engine did not yet have the many improvements the later games introduced, so it stands to benefit much from a remake. Of course, were I make to make the decision today (and not a year ago), I'd also be influenced by what other remake projects exist.
