There're a few pieces of information concerning World of Warcraft to be gathered from several places on the web, originating from several E3 interviews with the folks at Blizzard. Seems like drvinnie, a regular at the Stratics #worldofwarcraft channel has been busy checking out some Belgian websites for E3 information. He translated a E3-based preview from the Belgian website Spelletjesgarnaal, to begin with. Then there's some info he got from a 20 minute presentation movie of E3, which he summarizes like this:
- If you have looting rights to a corpse it has a sparkling effect around it.
- Quest rewards are class or race specific and can only be used by the character that completed the quest.
- The current looting system might be a little off in this early stage since a wolf dropped a shield. We hope that Blizzard remembers to change this.
- Characters have automatic gestures and ‘emotes’ based on the player chatting; a question mark in a sentence for example will have the character make questioning gestures.
- Emotes are race specific; an elf waves different than a dwarf. Night Elves can dance like Michael Jackson.
- You will be able to unlock new emotes.
- Boats have specific ‘themes’ for passing time; like a gambling boat, or a trade skill boat.
- Bill mentions end game is an important issue for them, they want to make sure there are things that will for example take 50 people to do it.
I'm not sure, but I believe the information is gathered from from this E3 movie in Dutch, but since it's a subscription-based website, you won't be able to watch it.
Finally there's a translation of a small part of an E3 preview in Dutch from another site to be found at WoW Stratics also. Here's the snip:
As finisher was asked the developer how high you could level. At the moment they are aiming at level 40 maybe a little higher. When we asked if there would be any challenges after reaching maximum level they were not overjoyed so it's not sure if there will be any. But if you look at the avaibility of races, classes and skills, you will quickly want to start a new character.
