For the Playstation 2, it was a nice killing run in the Baldur's Gate universe (not much of roleplaying in it, though). Now there will be a release for XBox, and GamePen has written one of the many previews you cn find if you click the "Game Info" link above this newsbit. Here's a part of what they write:
For those not familiar with the BG: DA, you pick one of three distinct characters (Fighter, Archer or Sorceress), each with their own abilities and powers, and take them into 46 (or so) levels of hacking, slashing and spell casting. These levels are divided into three acts, each with their own bosses, sub-bosses and over 40 monsters within labyrinths of forests, caves, dungeons and swamps. Each character provides a very different gaming experience and upon completion of your quest you are rewarded with a new level and another playable character to add to the already generous replay value. The game features the 3rd Edition of Dungeon & Dragon’s rules for combat in the Forgotten Realms universe. These ‘rules’ are largely invisible to the player except when you are leveling up various attributes for your warrior or their weapons. As luck would have it, you don’t have to go it alone as you and a friend can embark on this quest together in a 2 player co-op option, you can even save your customized character to a memory unit and take him or her on the road to use on another Xbox, sweet! |
