A preview of Heroes of Might & Magic IV can be found at MGOn today. This is something about heroes from this two-pager:
Heroes are also able to wield magical items which could potentially turn the tide of battle or turn a powerful hero into a one-man army. The developers definitely saw the potential of making the heroes much more than the static characters they were in the previous titles, and as such Heroes IV will allow you to take multiple heroes into the heart of battle, effectively making combat a more cautious affair. In the review beta, a few of the powerful pre-made heroes were able to take on hordes of enemies, which definitely ups the cool factor.
Because of this active participation on the heroes’ behalf, a little stat tweaking is in order. Heroes will have the same statistics as a monster stack – Damage, Hit Points, Speed, Movement, Spell Points, Shots, Luck and Morale. This of course makes it easier to compare a hero’s strengths and weaknesses to the enemy before engaging – which also means they’ll be more likely to live to tell the tale. |
