World of Xeen would have been even better had it gone with the formula of the first two MMs. Still, this is one of the most engrossing games I have ever played. |

My extremely high rating of this game, is dependent on whether or not you also have its counterpart, Might and Magic 4. The two together combine to become "Worlds of Xeen" and is one of my favorite RPGs of all time. The game world is massive, the dungeons are great, all I could have hoped for. The cutscenes (especially the one you see when completing the "Darkside of Xeen" is the climactic finish to the saga of Corak and Sheltem that started in Might and Magic I: Secret of the Inner Sanctum. I still go back to it every once in a while to play it again. If you haven't played these games yet, pick up one of the bundle packs of all the early M&M games, and if you can get it to run (with a dos boot disk), you will be pleasantly surprised!" |

Good enough to keep me playing, but certainly not great. The ending of World of Xeen was particularly poor. Still, this game and its counterpart M&M4 kept me playing for some time. |

Cloads and Darkside were probably the best games of the series. I played these games (as World of Xeen) so much that I didn't have enough money to level-up, and I cleared out every area and dungeon, so I couldn't get any more money. The cutscenes were awesome, far ahead of their time. |

This to me was more of a non-optional expand to the 4th installment... |

This was a clone of M&M4. Both used the same engine as M&M3, and both were solid games. If you combined the 2 together to make World of Xeen, you got more places to go and things to do. Separately, I rate them a 7. Together (World of Xeen), I give them an 8. |

Wonderfully fun. Make sure you play it with #4. The only problem is that the very end of the game is stumping. When there are about 15 monsters left in the entire world, you are entirely out of cash to train (level up), and too low a level to take on said monsters, it becomes frustrating. Luckily, you've already finished the game, but it is still traumatic to get the Mega Dragon down to red life and then get obliterated by one lucky fell swoop of the *******'s breath!
One hint: Barbarians and knights' power fluctuates through out the course of the game. Near the start, they're tough because they have so many hit points. A bit later, useless. Later, wonderful because they hit hard and have a lot of ac and hp. It goes on and on like that, but they are powerful at the very end. 6000+ hp and a calculated 4000ish physical damage a turn with the right levels and equipment, tell me that's not useful! |
