I was also actually suprised by the plot twist near the end, a first in my gaming experience (and I play a LOT of games). Part of the fun may have been that this was the first RPG since Betrayal at Krondor for which I didn't even peek at hints/walkthroughs. I've only played through it once, but I know I will play through it again.
