CamelotVault talked to Matt Frior in a post launch interview about Shrouded Isles, the expansion pack for Dark Age of Camelot. Here's a bit:
Camelot Vault: Recently Mythic launched Gaheris, a cooperative server. This was the third brand of specialty server you guys brought forth. Overall, the two roleplaying servers are still very popular. While Gaheris is enjoying some initial success, it appears that Mordred and Andred, the PvP servers, have suffered a severe decline. Why do you think this is? Do you foresee any more specialty servers in the near future?
Matt Firor: We are looking into this problem right now - in fact, our most recent live patch had a significant amount of features aimed at increasing the population of Mordred and Andred. We increased experience you accumulate for killing monsters, so you should be able to level faster, as well as come up with some ideas for encouraging players to build a stronger community on the PvP servers. My best guess, however, is that quite some people are tired of PvP. |
