It was the 3D towns, the better use of guilds to level up then Wizardry, and the music that drags you in. |

Even better than the first part. This was the first game I played with a 3D outdoor area to run around in - although it was still very basic and you could only move in steps I found it amazing at the time. |

This came out in the golden age of RPGs, but I didn't really think it ranked as highly as others do. I think the SSI Gold Box series, as well as the Might and Magic and Ultima series were much better examples of the era in my opinion.
You had to spend too much time fighting random battles just for the sake of being able to survive the later areas. The experience was not paced well enough. |
