Gamasutra has news that Ascaron will use Kynapse AI middleware in Sacred 2:
Kynogon, a supplier of A.I. middleware solutions, has confirmed that Kynapse is being used by Ascaron Entertainment to develop new PC RPG title Sacred 2.

The original Sacred, developed by Gutersloh, Germany-based developer Ascaron, which also has studios in Aachen, Germany, and Birmingham, UK, was the winner of the prestigious “Best Role Playing Game of 2004” award in magazine PC Gamer, and in May 2005, Ascaron announced that it had started the development of Sacred 2.

"Kynapse was integrated into our game quickly and smoothly. We can now focus entirely on the high level behavior of our creatures, since Kynapse handles all our pathing and low level behavior out-of-the-box.” said Kay Struve, Technical Director at Ascaron Entertainment.
Seems about time there was some AI middleware out there.
