Camelot Vault has written up a nice guide for those who want to get started with this succesful MMORPG. The guide is entitled "The Blademaster’s Guide to the Galaxy" and talks about the basics for choosing your character, leveling and such. Here's a bit:
So you have now chosen a plan for your character, you’re equipped as best you can, and you’re just dying to go out and take on the world. You now have another couple choices. You can either solo or go out and find a group.
Soloing can be tedious at times. Often the blue cons you seek out can cause you quite a bit of down time. At level 5 it is best to hang around Mag Mell. Skeletal minions at the stone east of town make good targets. At 6-8 you can hunt Orchard Nippers and Hill Toads. Just seek out any blue cons and kill away! Be wary of monsters that like to BAF (Bring A Friend).
Grouping is much more preferable in the early levels. Simply open your group tab, flag yourself as looking for a group and press the “Find” tab. A panel will pop up showing other soloers looking for a group if you wish to form one yourself, and it shows group leaders looking for members just like you! It is a shame that many people do not use this revolutionary system so make as much use of it as you can! You will find that you will level faster in groups, kill many monsters you couldn’t even think of soloing, and you will see many new places. |
