A new review of Dark Age of Camelot has been published at FBIReviews. Their rating is a very positive one (37/40), and here's abit how newbies are treated by the game:
DAoC is fairly newbie friendly; it gives you the first five levels to sort of coddle you into the game, and actually goes fairly easy on you from there out too, with acceptable (read: non character crippling) penalties for dying, which can be negated by tracking down the grave marker located at the spot you died, and taking a few seconds to pray there, and by paying a healer to regain any lost stat penalty you may have had placed on you. Just be sure to bind yourself to whatever town your currently calling home, because having to journey from one end of the map to another can be a very long journey –I’ve clocked some travels at over 6 minutes, and that’s while riding a horse (which is many times faster than running). The lands of all the individual realms are HUGE! |
