I thought I should mention an interesting Morrowind forum tidbit from donutbringer, addressing a concern I had recently. If you have a look at the Morrowind screenshots, you'll notice quite some high mountains in it. I always wondered if they were there in order to "keep you in an area" (like in Wizardry 8) or not. Luckily, this doesn't seem to be the case, as his forum post shows (which seems to be addressing the "thick air" trick in Dark Age of Camelot that prevents you from going off a map):
we don't have solid air. the only thing preventing you from going places is yourself. (example: you would not be able to jump a 10 foot wall if your acrobatics skill was really low, but levitate could get you there right away.) |
