Look at how Gone Gold quoted from my review done earlier this year, in the course of which Gothic was awarded an RPGDot Platinum Award (!). There's one thing the guys from Gone Gold got wrong though. It's definitely not just "one of the folks at RPGDot" who really enjoyed this game. All three German speaking staff members (Rendelius, Garrett and me) highly recommend Gothic. Trust us ;) Newsgroup reaction to this has been mixed enough that I'm hesitating, but one of the folks at RPGDOT sure likes it, giving it 90% in his review: "The major reasons for Gothic´s success lie in its extremely detailed, interactive and immersing game world plus its ever motivating plot. Add the high degree of freedom and non-linearity this game offers and you're pretty close to fulfilling a role playing gamer's wish list."
