RPG Vault has kicked off a new series about Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna with Dev Diary #1. In this issue, Mad Doc's Tara Teich and Ian Lane Davis discuss the expansion's main points:
Another feature we added to convey the story is Treasure Sets. Each Treasure Set is a group of related magical items; when used individually, they are powerful, but when used together, the power of each increases. What's most interesting about these sets, though, is that each one is tied into the story. In the single-player game, each piece of each set is hand-placed and relevant to the adventure. For example, as the hero progresses through the journey, they'll find pieces of "Arhok's Lot," a Treasure Set passed down through generations of Arhok's heroes and last used by the hero's mother. Each piece of Arhok's Lot has some backstory that reveals the mystery of what happened to the hero's long-missing parents.
