Gamespy have put up an interview with Harvey Smith from Ion Storm discussing Deus Ex: Invisible War. Like their recent interview with Ion Storm guru Warren Spector, the conversation spends a lot of time discussing consoles and the Xbox:GameSpy: We're seeing an increasing number of titles that are being developing for both console and PC. Is this because of the weakness of the PC market or some other reason?
Harvey Smith: The reason people make games for multiple platforms is for more money. It's not just more sales cumulatively, it's not just like, "Oh, I sold a million and a half on PC and three million on console or whatever." It's at the same time, you have advertising and support, and word of mouth for all of it going on at once. It's more likely to create kind of a critical mass where people are saying the name, "Deus Ex: Invisible War." |
