My name is Jeff Vogel. I am President of Spiderweb Software. For the last decade, I have been one of those proud few, those hidden heroes, those brave, cheery bottom-feeders of the game industry... the Indie Game Developer.

For the last 10 years, I have written retro (read "cheaply made") fantasy role-playing games for Windows and Macintosh. I wrote games like Exile, Avernum and Geneforge that made me quite a bit of money even though you haven't heard of them. I have been given the privilege of writing a column here for a while to give my perspective on the world from the bottom.
