Let's conclude this first news update with a report about the living dead *g*, sent in by Corwin (thanks): The Grimoire site has been updated with info on the progress with their monsters:
hose monsters are rolling off the assembly line!
This fellow above is the Null-Space Demon encountered in Blackspike Mountain, by Jarrod. Many, many new monster graphics in Grimoire, almost too many to list here. Minotaur, Medusa, SumoGorathra, The Piper, Jabberwocky, The Entity ... they're not just ideas in my design document anymore, they're now real animated creatures in the game.
Try to explain this to me. I've got 24 monsters remaining in the game with no artwork since 1999. I've employed a half a dozen artists, none of which has been able to complete them over times ranging from three months to nine months duration.
Now, in less than one week, we have done over 12 monsters using Poser, Photoshop and Deluxe Paint IV. At this rate, we could have completed the entire artwork for this game in less than one year. We would have saved around $100,000 USD.
Can we make our release date? The game has got to go into beta testing within a week if we are to have any chance of releasing Grimoire this year. Let's see :-) |
