As World of Warcraft continues to struggle with the influx of new users since last year's holiday season, Blizzard has decided to keep a temporary freeze on new character creation for a number of North American realms in effect until conditions improve sufficiently for characters already on those servers.
After extensive evaluation of realm performance during peak times this weekend, we've decided to keep character creation disabled on the following list of realms. We realize that we had previously announced that a select number of these realms would in-fact have the character disablement restriction lifted today, however, further review of population patterns, realm queues and overall performance during peak times has convinced us that allowing the restriction to remain for a while longer is the best course of action, in order to ensure that players with existing characters on these realms are able to play under optimal realm performance conditions. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that these restrictions may cause some of you, and most certainly thank you for your patience in this matter.
