Say "multiplayer" to any coin-op veteran and you can almost see original Gauntlet images flashing on their retinas. Those who love the game are true devotees, willing to belly up to any update, and in the past this has been nothing but trouble. The less said about Legends and Dark Legacy, the better. But Midway may have got Gauntlet's number now, as Seven Sorrows is being developed by veterans John Romero (Quake, Deus Ex) and Josh Sawyer (Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, Planescape Torment).
