It has been some little while since I last perused the premium Freelancer modsite, Lancer's Reactor; and I am happy to say that the mod efforts - just as the cycle of Nature - continue. For the sake of brevity, today's look upon Lancer's Reactor will focus on two of their newest, all around mods:
(1) First up is Mod Engineer, Falcon 2, who presents us with the "Webrunner" Beta 2 mod...
Recommended for Single Play only.
Due to inclusion of wingmen, Beta2 is recommended for Single Play only.
This MOD has Open Singleplayer built in.
There is no storyline to go through.
In Singleplayer you start out with a customized fully loaded Sabre and over 1,000,000 credits.
(2) And then there is Crossfire Mod Team presenting us with their "Crossfire V1.5 (The Old Enemy)" mod...
This MOD can be played in Multiplayer and Open Singleplayer games.
Open Singleplayer (no storyline) is built into this MOD so you start off as a Freelancer if you start a Singleplayer game but you'll have plenty of credits ($150,000) to get yourself well equipped.
You can play online Multiplayer games on the Crossfire Freelancer Server
And while these two mods may sound somewhat similiar, they are actually (forgive the pun) "worlds apart"!! |
