They rate the game 4/5 and come to this conclusion at the end of their rather long review: And so I come to the end of another review of another RPG. Maybe Arx isn’t as good as some of the classics, it just lacks that extra something, let’s just call it panache. Sure, it has given the magic system a well needed breath of life, but it lacks in the main combat system. What we do have is a polished RPG experience full of tension and atmosphere. We’ve seen most of it before. But we’ve never seen it done as well as this before. Solid, but not spectacular.
