IGN has a short look at Gothic 3. While the artice notes definite and specific improvements, it's a little disappointing to read the demo is similar to that from GDC:
One of the franchises that is sadly overlooked on the PC is Gothic. While the first two games weren't perfect, they were really fun and provided a hell of an RPG system. Aspyr is hoping that people wake the hell up and take a look at the upcoming Gothic III, which is looking quite good. The last time we saw this 3rd person RPG was at GDC down in San Jose and I'm happy to say that it keeps looking better.

For the most part, the demo we were shown today was basically the same thing shown at GDC. The differences were a much improved framerate, a new monster, and reactive AI that responded to stimulus much better than in the previous version of the game.
