There's a new review of Divine Divinity at the Adrenaline Vault. The rating is 3.5/5. Interestingly enough, intelligence and AI get just a score of 2/5 there. Here's their conclusion:
Those who disliked Diablo 2 won't be won over by Divine Divinity. Those bored with Diablo 2 should look elsewhere, toward offerings such as Throne of Darkness or Dungeon Siege, where there's the opportunity to control multiple characters or create custom scenarios. Those who were disappointed by the single-player portion of Diablo 2 would do well to give Divine Divinity a chance. Despite its many faults, it remains a solid contribution to its genre, with graphics and music that form a particularly credible environment. That the arrival of its hasty conclusion is so regrettable is only a testament to its many strengths. Larian Studios might have set out to create the next Ultima VII, yet in so many ways, they've created the next Ultima VIII. At least we can all be thankful that there aren't any jumping puzzles. |
