Gamespydaily posted an interesting article, still hot from the Game Developers Conference 2003, about the question why (and how) Korea has taken a leading role in the online gaming market. Certainly worth a read for anyone who ever wondered about the success of games like Dark Ages and Lineage. Here's a snap:
Geography plays a role in creating this unique market. Korea is a small country with a densely packed population. As a result, when it came time to connect the country, the whole thing could be wired up at once. In 1999, the number of Internet users grew by 2607%!
