The second item from ActionTrip is a preview of BioWare's Mass Effect, which certainly sounds interesting:
The game is simply epic. It spans the entire Milky Way galaxy, with many different star systems, with different planets, moons, derelict spaceships, asteroids, and space stations. The sheer number of environments looks staggering, so in one system alone, there appear to be more planets than all of those from Knights of the Old Republic put together.

The universe itself, in addition to having a bajillion places to go, also has a ton of different alien species that interact with each another, along with humanity, a relative new comer to the galactic scene. Each of these characters has their own body language, facial expressions and emotions, and you can interact with them, in quick and nimble conversation, with heated animated exchanges. And while you're interacting with all of these characters, the environmental lighting plays off of everyone's face, giving the impression of a real, dynamic place. Furthermore, as humanity is new to many of these alien races, you're representing the human race, and if you're a total dick, these aliens are going to treat people differently than if you were a compassionate saint of a man. This comes as a substitute for the previous moral system of good and evil, and it is supposed to be much more complex than anything we have seen before.
