RPGDot Game Rating Machine

Yan Rupik has rated the following games:

Arcanum - Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura: 7/10 points

This was a good attempt, but I felt it was a little overworked, and just did not have the same magic as the Fallout games.

Baldur's Gate - Tales of the Sword Coast: 4/10 points

I don't understand why this game was so popular, I thought it was pants. I don't understand why so many people like the D&D system as well. This game just had no good qualitys to speak of.

Betrayal at Krondor: 8/10 points

A good story, but it goes a but pissed at the end.

Dark Age of Camelot: 5/10 points

Well refined, but lacking depth; good if you like mindless level ladders, but lacking in any kind of real social content, or good story; the world is just nothing more that a collection of monsters to kill, and items to get.

Diablo 2: 7/10 points

A lot of fun, but repetitive and not much depth.

System Shock: 9/10 points

This was a really good game. There was a hell of a lot to it, and the gameplay was great.

Thief - The Dark Project: 10/10 points

This game is one of my all time favourites. The world is so well realised that you could almost believe it was a real place. Really well done story and plot.

Thief 2 - The Metal Age: 8/10 points

Very good sequel, but not quite as good as the original. The engine was better, but many of the levels seemed a little rushed; the story and world seemed a little less well realised, as well.

Ultima 7 - Serpent Isle (Sequel): 9/10 points

As good, if not better than part one. A real masterpiece.

Ultima 7 - The Black Gate: 9/10 points

A really great game, an interactive world that feels so open and free. Really good story and characters.

Ultima 8 - Pagan: 9/10 points

Many people slated this game, but I thought it was great. A really well realised world.

Ultima Online: 7/10 points

This game used to be really amazing, but more recently, massive balance issues, bugs, and blatant (yet accepted) cheating has turned this game into a big pile of poo.

Ultima Online - Renaissance: 2/10 points

This is the release where things started going bad. They tried to fix many bad problems (rampant PKs and such) but ended up throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

Ultima Underworld 1 - The Stygian Abyss: 9/10 points

A really amazing game when it came out, and still playable today.
