EverQuest 2: A Year in Review @ GamerGod

GamerGod serves up an EverQuest 2 year in review, taking a closer look at some of the elements that have changed, and how this has affected the game.
As we approach the anniversary of the very first live update, we are reminded of all the vast changes EverQuest II has undergone in its first year of release. Few games undergo as many far reaching changes as we have seen put into our game, in such a short amount of time. It isn’t likely that anyone approves of ALL the changes, and just as there were times you were thrilled to see a certain bug fixed, or a specific encounter finally working, there have been times you were upset with a specific tweak you didn’t agree with. Now, let's take the time look back at where EverQuest II started and just where we’ve gone.

If there is one aspect of EverQuest II that has changed the most since we first began playing in November, it would have to be the way combat works. With the release of Desert of Flames, we saw the introduction of the combat revamp in Live Update #13. This update, in many ways, fundamentally changed EverQuest II. Unfortunately, while things worked just fine in the new zones, as well as new zones can work anyway, there were some serious problems in the old world zones.
