Anarchy Online: Shadowlands: 8/10 points |
If you play AO already, no doubt you already know whether you're going to upgrade to Shadowlands or not, and you can get more opinions in the game than I could give you. However, if you have never played AO, I can recommend it heartily; after all, to a new player the whole thing is new, Rubi-Ka and the Shadowlands both, and if you don't like the new additions you could easily spend years in the old world, which is still fairly lively (populated by people who don't like the new expansion, of which there are many). Anarchy Online is a must-have for anyone who enjoys tinkering with their character's stats. This game has more stats and skills to tinker than all the competition combined. Instead of one set of wear locations you have three: one set for armor, one set for weapons and devices, and one set for cyborg implants, should you choose to go that route (and every character can). Just designing and constructing a partial set of implants is more complex than most other games character development process altogether. This game can be played simply, by making some big bruiser, wearing whatever armor you can find/buy, and hacking monsters with a sword, but it really shines when playing a class distinctive to it, a technical class like the Engineer, a stealth class like the Agent, or a tricked-out cyborged Soldier. |
