David Kim, marketing manager of JC Entertainment, was partner in a Priest interview at The Adrenaline Vault. Here's an excerpt:
Q: Tell us how the gameplay in Priest separates itself from some of the more recent MMORPGs, such as Dark Age of Camelot.
A: What separates Priest from the other games is the FPS-like battling system. It seems more recent MMORPG titles have tried to emphasize team play, much like we have, but the stark difference in Priest is the element of actually having to aim and maneuver. In other games, the fighting still simply boils down to pointing and clicking.
Imagine that you have to go into battle with your buddies. You know that winning is going to involve much more than simply sticking together; it's going to involve actual aim and skill. Because Priest requires a user to aim, it's going to be imperative that players master their own individual marksmanship and learn how to cooperate with others. Thus, winning and losing will be determined not by the team that has more guns, but by the team that has more guns and can use them better. |
