Monkey Review did a review of Heroes of Might & Magic 4 - and rated the game with four out of five bananas. Here's what they offer as their summary:
All this depth is heaped upon you through 6 campaigns (one for each alignment) and more than 20 additional scenarios. Can you say replay value? Unfortunately, for all its innovation, you won’t find yourself as addicted to Heroes 4 as you will to the previous games in the series. Whether it’s the new complexity introduced to the basic Heroes formula or the weak AI, the game just doesn’t have the same addictiveness as Heroes 2 or 3. Whatever the case, the game is still worthy of your purchase if you’re a fan of the series, just don’t expect it to dominate all your gaming time.
Sadly, Heroes 4 was shipped minus a Multiplayer mode. Out of the box, hotseat mode is supported and, two weeks after this review is published, a Multiplayer patch will be released from 3DO. This oversight would suggest that Heroes 4 was forced out a little early, before it was truly ready. |
