HomeLan has done a Q&A with Steve Fawkner about Warlords Battlecry 2.

HomeLAN - Developing a hero as well as improving the units gives the game an RPG feel. Why was this feature added and how is this handled in the game?

Steve Fawkner - I really love strategy games (particularly fantasy strategy games). But the one thing I dislike is that whenever you finish a battle in most strategy titles, you have to start all over again in the next game - there is no continuity. Having a story helps, but the mechanics of most games still force you to start from scratch every time. With Battlecry, developing heroes & units helps me to feel a link through all the games I play - I finish one battle, and I want to play another to get my hero to the next level - it gives me that 'one more turn' feeling.
