'Sid Meier's Pirates!' has been reviewed at a site called Spoiled Brats. There's no score, so here's closing:
One game can go on for hours and hours and hours, usually lasting a few days. The longer you stay in the game, the older you become as a pirate, your health deteriorating accordingly. (At sea, days pass by about every three seconds.) Eventually you are not very good at fighting, so the game gets harder. Along the way you can advance to higher levels for increased challenge. Eventually your health becomes a deciding factor and you are forced to retire. At that point your fame and accomplishments are tallied to determine how you live out your days -- any number of ways from a lowly pickpocket to a rich land baron.

Mods are being made all of the time for this game, and some will be so expansive as to make replay possibilities endless. I expect to get months, maybe eve
