Gamespy serves us a Dungeons & Dragons Heroes preview. This action RPG for PS2 XBox and Gamecube reminds me a little of BG: Dark Alliance, so it could be a fun game (but don't expect too much depth). Here's a bit from the preview, talking about levels and areas:
There will be nine different levels in the finished game and each one will have a variety of branching paths and hidden areas. In order to keep track of the environments an overhead map can be accessed at any time or tucked away in a corner of the screen for consistent access. Infogrames is making a point to not include any sort of jumping in Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes because it believes it's a deterrent to cooperative gameplay. It's also adamant about not including any sort of mazes in the game, as it wants the game to be squarely focused on combat and leveling-up your characters. |
