RPG Vault has thrown a second peek at Perpetual's alternate history RPG 'Gods & Heroes'.In the period around 300 BC, the Carthaginians are a major economic force across the entire Mediterranean region, with a series of trade outposts from Iberia to Sicilia and beyond. Based in northern Africa, they are sworn enemies of Rome due to a long-standing, irreconcilable feud. The Gauls occupy a large portion of Western Europe, and have raided parts of the Italian peninsula, even settling certain areas. While not disciplined militarily, their warriors make up for this through sheer ferocity. To the north, their Germanic neighbors are just as warlike, perhaps slightly less reckless in battle, but even more resolute.
Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising is Perpetual Entertainment's persistent state offering in which the titular Republic is beginning to expand its influence, but still faces threats from the likes of the above-named enemies plus the Samnites, Greeks, Etruscans and more. The game will also incorporate creatures drawn from myths and legends; examples are gigantic Cyclopes, snake-haired Gorgons, mighty Minotaurs, cannibalistic Laestrygones, Volta wolf-men and fire-breathing Chimeras. A dozen deities will play central roles by appearing to provide quests, support and godly powers to those aligning with them. Thanks to the team, we have to opportunity to track the project's progress. |
