The second feature at RPGVault today is a Disciples 2 Expansions Interview. Producer Ariel Gauthier tells us more about the two expansions:
Jonric: What were the main considerations that led to two expansion packs rather than one, which would seem more normal? And since they're standalone and can also be combined, why not release them together and call them Disciples III?

Ariel Gauthier: Initially, our objective was to release only one expansion with the new high-level campaigns. After further consideration, we decided that it would be a great opportunity to introduce more players to the Disciples universe. In order to do so, we could not release only the high-level material since it was clearly aiming only at experienced players. Also, based on the Disciples fans' feedback, we realized that most of them had a clear preference for the race they choose to play.

In essence, we had two goals, find a way to allow inexperienced gamers to play the new expansions and provide new content and features for the original fans. For these reasons, we opted for this solution; separate the expansions by race so gamers are free to choose their favorite races - Guardians of the Light for the Empire and Mountain Clans and Servants of the Dark for the Legions of the Damned and the Undead Hordes. We have also bundled the original campaigns for each race included in the expansions, along with their new high-level campaigns.
