"We have seen the future, and it looks good". This is how the preview of Deus Ex: Invisible War at IGN starts. Here's something about physics in the game:
The rag doll physics are simply the best we've seen. While there's still the occasional awkward joint here and there, the models don't bend their knees the wrong way when they collapse. Location-specific damage and a healthy dose of stairways, bleachers and railings let you really experience the effect in all its perverse glory. Bill showed us a few of these dynamic death animations in real time. He shot a character on some bleachers and we watched him tumble down. The rag doll effect still isn't fully implemented on the game's many robot models but, if the effect can be transferred, it's sure to be just as satisfying. (Squeamers: There will be an option to turn off blood effects if you like, but Harvey is pretty passionate about including it as a realistic consequence of combat. The immature games, he reasons, are those that don't include realistic blood effects.) |
