RPG Warehouse has apparently obtained a comment from Interplay about all the D&D-related titles being removed from their catalogue (story). This may be a moot point since Interplay's site has been down for several days now - almost certainly too long for a technical glitch. In this announcement for an upcoming BG:DA II interview, RPGWH paraphrases the response from IPLAY on this situation:Basically, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II was removed from within Interplay's game catalog until Interplay and Atari's legal departments settle negotiations for the D&D license. At the moment Atari owns ALL rights to the D&D universe(Dungeons and Dragons). Negotiations are in progress and Interplay hopes to have that resolved very shortly. Afterwards, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II will be listed once more at Interplay's games-catalog and the games's official website will be back online. "Negotiations" clearly equates to payment, although it's hard to see IPLAY making progress on this issue. |
