IGN takes a look at the soon-to-be-released expansion pack for EverQuest, Prophecy of Ro.Sony Online Entertainment was on-hand at the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show to tout some of its latest EverQuest franchise offerings, including the next expansion for the original and seemingly immortal EverQuest, which will mark its seventh anniversary in March. The 11th expansion for the game, EverQuest: Prophecy of Ro will offer gamers not only new areas, creatures and items, but an overhaul of one of the game's most popular areas.
We were shown a short video of some of the expansion's content, though there wasn't a whole lot of new new stuff to see. Rather, the video focused on the redesign of Freeport, one of the game's most popular cities and travel hubs.
Freeport is receiving a facelift of sorts, enough so that EverQuest fans may not recognize their home town even at first glance. All of the textures have be redone to provide more detail as well as a more unique styling for the city. Geometry has been altered as well.
