Gamespy serves us an interview with Darren Monahan and Kevin Osburn, producers of Baldur's gate. Dark Alliance for the XBox. Here's a bit for you:
GameSpy: What were the biggest obstacles and success stories that you encountered in creating the game? What features were omitted that you wanted to include?

Darren Monahan: One of the biggest obstacles (which is always the biggest obstacle when making games) is the time frame. There were so many things we wanted to do with the game that a schedule causes you to trim out. We had ideas for this storyline that interweaved all three characters you could choose, where you would meet them along the way as well. We also had plans for a tutorial that actually took you on the journey to Baldur's Gate where you would learn how to fight, jump, cast spells, etc. We wanted to allow players to choose their own names and also wanted to add in additional playable characters. But alas, schedules being what they are, we had to do what we could in our timeframe.
