Breaking the run of PC version Star Wars KotOR II reviews, is a critique of the Xbox version at Loaded Inc - score, 9/10:OK, lets get this out of the way. Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords is no revolution from its predecessor. Instead, the game positions itself as a faithful sequel which doggedly sticks to the ground rules laid down by the (surprising) hit of 2003. With that in mind, it’s got to be said that, if you played the original game and liked it, then you’re in for a treat. When we heard whispers that Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords had changed development houses our hearts sank deep enough to end up in Australia. After the shambling mess of Medal of Honour Rising Sun, change equaled death as far as we were concerned (sounds like a Woody Allen line to me – ed). But newcomers Obsidian Entertainment – a company founded by members of the Fallout, Icewind Dale, Baldur's Gate, Dark Alliance, and Planescape: Torment teams - have virtually pulled off the impossible. They’ve taken something that was great and made it better still. |
