Simply an immortal classic.

superfluid has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from superfluid)

I'm old enough to have actually played this game and all I've got to say is that at the time it was released no one said the black and white television was boring or lacked features either. ;-)

Crazy has rated 5/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Crazy)

A classic, but it shows it's age...

Wily_One has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Wily_One)

The one that started it all! A classic. Sure the graphics are dated. This game proves that gameplay is better than the candyland shit. Everything that came after owes a tip of the hat to the original.

Single handedly brought computer games out of the arcade. Mapping Mapping Mapping. A Great level up system (one that BG and NWN can't figure out!). Spell system is still the coolest anywhere; it's a shame DW Bradley got a hold of this system because he killed it. When I tell people I jsut finished playing Wiz 8 the first thing they ask me is, "Tiltowait?" And I lok sad and say, "No, they killed it with number 5." Ahh, the kobolds deserved Tiltowait. Apparently based on Ubliette made for mainframes. Attack, Attack, Attack, Parry, Parry, Parry. It was the first game I've ever seen a modding utility for - Wizfix.

Mapping Mapping Mapping and a Blue Ribbon to boot. PS- Trebor Sux!

Jesse has rated 8/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Jesse )

A classic. Pure fun in an awesome dungeon crawl. The puzzles were absolutely grueling..in that devious atomspheric way. The dungeons or death mazes I should rather call them were ingeniusly designed. Great game to contribute to the start of it all.

Rev. Layle has rated 5/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Rev. Layle)

ok wizard 1 sucked. but to keep it from such a nasty rating (1 or 2 perhaps)_, i would say, it did start a whole style of 8-bit pseduo 3D CRPGs. it's wasn't the worst game i have ever played... but it was rather boring

Shyguy has rated 5/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Shyguy)

I admit, I played this game for the first time in the 90's. I was not impressed. I suppose it was something special when it was first released, and I tried to judge it on gameplay alone (not graphics and such), but I just didn't think there was anything that great about this game.

James has rated 8/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from James)

A great classic, but lets face it, the story is non existant. Still, this great RPG series deserves to be remembered.

polonius has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from polonius)

OK, I'll admit the score for this one is based as much on nostalgia and its influence as by how good it is, but is still playable and an essential piece of RPG history.

plob has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from plob)

The best, most stable, D&D game for computer at the time. Years of plodding away and non-linear quests as well.

Scar has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Scar)

To give this any less than a 10 would be a crime. The game that many so many more games possible.

AquinasWI has rated 9/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from AquinasWI)

One of THE cornerstones of RPGing on the computer. This was the one of the very first computer games I purchased, and it was amazing. The graphics were of course minimal and the storyline non-existent, but it made up for it with allowing 6 party members and having as many classes as it did, including some rather cool ones like Bishop and Ninja. I remember spending way too many hours sending individual characters against two Unseen Entities just to pad their experience points.

Steve Westbrook has rated 8/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Steve Westbrook)

Robert Braunger has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Robert Braunger)

Look, you have to rate a game by the technology of its time. Those giving Wizardry a low score because it's old miss the point. At the time, Wizardry, Ultima, and the Infocom games pretty much *created* the existing game industry. An awesome game, pushing the technology. I crawled dungeons and swore at this game for a loong time.

Classic... I use to play this on a Mac. Trend starter

Deviante has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Deviante)

Of course it gets a 10. I'm proud to still have the original Apple 2E floppy that I beat the game from when I was 6 years old in 1982. What's this? 3d dungeon crawling? Basic monster AI? They change party order, they heal themselves... Plenty of dungeon secrets to discover in spite of the simple graphics. Extensive character classes, spells, and items... 1982 yo! Other than the simple top-down Temple of Apshai this was the only quenching for the CRPG thirst at the time. Like Final fantasy, walking around exploring, bump into a party of monsters, turn based combat complete with melee, ranged, and spells.... 20 f'in years later and they're still making money with the same premise! Too bad SirTech crapped out...

FatToby has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from FatToby)

Imagine five guys hotseating their own char during combat, arguing over map directions and bickering over loot and healing. That was best gaming experience I've ever had. Wizardry ruled.

Ulfang has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Ulfang)

Total Classic! This is a computer game benchmark that STILL is better than most rpg games regarind gameplay & character development. Graphics are third compared to these things which is mind blowing how modern games neglect..
