I almost missed this one from our friends over at GameSpot...
The organizers of Edinburgh International Games Festival '04 (EIGF04) announced the support of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), which will be launching its first-ever New Talent Award at the event. The award, which will be presented by Sony Europe president and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe chairman Chris Deering, is designed to recognize and reward the outstanding contributions made by an individual who has been working in the interactive entertainment industry for three years or less.
"We started the Edinburgh International Games Festival to celebrate the cultural contribution of interactive entertainment, and to recognize the wealth of talent and creativity within our industry," said Greg Ingham, chairman of EIGF04 and chief executive officer of Future Network. "We are thrilled that the British Academy has chosen EIGF04 as the forum for its first-ever New Talent Award."
And, if you want to know more about the upcoming Edinburgh International Games Festival (EIGF04) - scheduled to be held from 08 - 22 August 2004 - then truck on over to their website. |
