We just received the following development update by Jesse Strachman from the Ultima 6 Project (an Ultima 6 remake using the Dungeon Siege engine):
1. We've got our first region built in DungeonSiege and we're looking it over. We're expecting another 10 to be completed in short order. There are going to be well over 200 regions, so this project is going to take a while.

2. We've completed music for several regions. We're considering putting up some snippets for people to download and listen to.

3. We've taken on several new members recently. We're still looking for a few skritters to help on some of the more technical pieces, but in general we're in pretty good shape.

4. Sliding Dragon and myself (Zephyr) are re-working the requirements document carefully so that the project has a clear direction. The official list of spells that we are planning to implement has been finished, and it has been assigned to a programmer for implementation. This is subject to change, because there may be limitations on what you can do with the DS engine. (For example, there's a little spell called "Armageddon" that is going to be really tricky.)

5. We've got some initial renderings from the person doing our gargoyles. After we do some modifications, we might have some screen shots for people.

6. Most of the basic "branching" functionality is complete for the conversation engine, and we hope to have a small demo up in the near future.
