Adrenaline Vault has interviewed Scot Lane, Interplay's executive producer on BGDA2. Here's a snip:Dark Alliance II will have plenty of powerful weapons and artifacts to find or buy. Tell us more about the new feature that lets players create their own magical weapons from raw materials.
Probably the coolest new feature in BGDA2 is item creation. Throughout the game, you’ll find or buy gems. You can take these gems to Bartley, and he can have them put into weapons, armor or trinkets as long as the items are of a fine quality. These gems have different effects and powers depending on what you’re putting them into. For instance, if you find Jacinth and put it in a sword, the sword will become flaming (the more Jacinth, the more powerful). If you put Jacinth in armor, it becomes fire resistant. If you put the Jacinth in a ring, it’ll increase your strength. There are several different gem types, and what’s even better is mixing gem types within an item. I’ve had a bunch of fun with this, and it’s one more way to totally customize your character. |
