A hands on preview of Warcraft 3 has been posted at Gamespot UK. Here's something about the tutorial:
The tutorial section of the game is called Thrall's Training and features an introduction to the wily ways of the Orc, using that race's new hero and War chief. However in the first of many twists, once you start the game for real you'll switch to the Human faction. The game engine is used for the story-telling cinematics and it handles the job well. The first mission's intro sees a wizened old Paladin called Uther Lightbringer - a character from WarCraft II - welcoming your hero, Prince Arthas, and setting the scene for this Human segment. A village must be saved from a band of rampaging Orcs who are rounding up the inhabitants for slavery, or worse. Thus your first job is to go into battle - but it also introduces some basic game concepts too, such as interaction with NPCs and levelling-up your hero through battle.
