Bard's Tale 1 - Tales from the Unknown: 8/10 points |
My first CRPG, which changed my whole computer player life quite a lot... |
Bard's Tale 3 - Thief of Fate: 9/10 points |
I hardly ever had so much fun again playing a CRPG. At its time it was just the best Hack&Slash. Good game balance, 500 monster types, >250 items and >100 spells and the game was realeased quite some time ago. |
Dungeon Master: 9/10 points |
It was way ahead of its time (almost 10 years). Incredible atmosphere. I liked Chaos Strikes back a little bit more, because it was more challenging. |
Elder Scrolls 3 - Morrowind: 9/10 points |
character creation that rivals P&P rpg's, beautiful and well designed visuals, huge level-free world to run around in, rich universe, new add-ons and plug-ins means it keeps getting better. I take off one point because of npc, animal, and monster AI. Even so, I still havn't deleted Daggerfall yet, it hasn't replaced Daggerfall. |
Planescape: Torment: 9/10 points |
Best story I ever read or saw on movie. |
Ultima 7 - The Black Gate: 10/10 points |
I replayed the game 3 years ago and I couldn't believe how much I liked it - still. Also it let me wonder what happened the last years to the RPG genre if it was so far already 10 years ago?! Interactivity, non-linear, a real world (npc's with own day agenda)... I still didn't play a 2nd game like that. |
Wizardry 7 - Crusader of the Dark Savant: 10/10 points |
Most challenging game I ever played. Just brilliant. |
Wizardry 8: 10/10 points |
Best combat system, game balance(!) for me. How can such a combat intensive game be so challenging till the end? I'm also impressed by the character development which is also incredible well balanced. |
Wizards & Warriors - Quest for the Mavin Sword: 7/10 points |
Excellent dungeons and a special atmosphere, unfortunately outdoor areas, NPCs and the unbalanced battles (way too easy) prevent it from being much better. |
