RPG Vault has nailed down Irrational Games' GM and Creative Director Ken Levine for an interview about Freedom Force vs The Third Reich:
Jonric: As an introduction, how would you summarize Freedom Force vs. The Third Reich, the kind of game it will be, and what has most inspired or influenced its design?

Ken Levine: Freedom Force vs. The Third Reich picks up where the original Freedom Force left off. Like the original, our new game is a tactical RPG that utilizes elements of many popular genres. It's the sort of game that has a little something for everyone.

It's a bit bizarre when you think about the places you look to for inspiration. The obvious places were the comics of the early sixties, the writing of guys like Stan Lee and the art of Steve Ditko, Jack Kirby and others. I think the original Freedom Force did a good job capturing the silver age of comics. We wanted to try and attempt the same feat with the golden age. This meant spending a lot of time studying that era - not just the comics, but also the history and culture.
